XIX. The Sun

Upright: confidence, success and fulfillment, clarity, playfulness, carefree attitude, romantic opportunities, support from benefactors, desire for attention.

Reversed: overconfidence or lack of confidence, confusion, disappointment, frustration, joy turning into sorrow.

The radiant sun hangs high in the sky, like a mother’s womb nurturing a child brimming with life. It grants vitality to all things, its light gentle yet filled with hope, spreading warmth across every corner of the world. A naked girl, light as a spirit, rides upon the back of a colorful butterfly, flying toward the blazing sun. In this moment, she breaks free from all worldly restraints, soaring into freedom and infinite possibility.

The Sun also connects to the Wheel of Fortune (1+9=10) and The Fool (1+0=1). In the Wheel of Fortune, the future remains uncertain — light or dark, rise or fall. But within The Sun, everything is illuminated. The newborn child beneath the sun is the Fool, now reborn and triumphant at the end of the journey.
