Six of Pentacles

Balance, Distribution, Giving and Receiving

The giving portrayed in the Six of Pentacles comes with its own considerations. On one hand, the giver does not offer excessively or unconditionally—they provide within reasonable limits and according to their ability. On the other hand, the act of giving is measured and intentional. The three figures in the card differ in status: the supplicants appear pitiful and submissive, offering emotional value in return. This reciprocal flow of giving and receiving is what keeps the balance intact.
