Seven of Pentacles
Waiting, Harvest, Reflection, Planning
The harvest in the Seven of Pentacles is not as abundant as it might appear. In the original Rider-Waite image, the figure is a farmer who has grown a tree full of pentacles, seemingly plentiful. But don’t forget—being a farmer means being a worker; those pentacles are not his to keep. He’s merely responsible for growing them, which is why he ignores the pentacle on the ground—it’s not enough to fulfill his obligations.
The same logic applies to the figure in this version of the card—here, he’s a fruit grower.
On the other hand, even if all the fruits are his, why is he still waiting after they’ve ripened? This indicates the fruits are not what he needs—they must be traded for something else. That’s why the Seven of Pentacles also implies the need to plan for what comes next.
