Five of Cups
Perhaps today is a gloomy day and something has made you sad. You quietly crawl into bed and wrap yourself up, as if doing so allows you to release your emotions freely. Your teddy bear stays by your side, and the lamp behind you continues to shine. Please open your eyes and take a look.
This reflects an aversion and shame toward expressing emotions. The instinctive gesture of covering the face is a form of self-protection, but such a habit also suggests that her emotions may have long gone “unaccepted or misunderstood.” The teddy bear’s embrace and the lamp’s warmth cannot truly heal her inner wounds. The support around her is real, but whether she can open her eyes and look forward depends entirely on herself.
