Four of Cups
You have gone around the conveyor belt a few times, yet none of the sushi looks appealing. Everything feels overfamiliar and dull. Whether you have tasted them before or not, you don’t feel like trying any of them. Perhaps what you actually crave is nothing on the belt, but the simple soy sauce in the little dish.
This card gives a sense of weariness, as if the things around you have repeated so many times that you have become numb. The endless rotation brings monotony, a feeling of “I’ve seen this routine way too many times.” That is why the illustration features very common sushi, clearly lacking stimulation or freshness. It is as if you can already imagine the ordinary taste before eating, and similarly, you can already imagine the predictable outcome of events you haven’t even experienced yet.
UPRIGHT
Not wanting to choose, waiting in place, no better options, temporary coping, not liking it but needing it, neither active nor rejecting, many negative thoughts, lethargy.
REVERSED
Leaving stagnation, settling, deciding to try, understanding your needs, seizing new opportunities, change, freshness.
