The Devil

Temptation,
under the sky,
a theatre of the absurd
is performed again and again.
Desires beneath the shadow,
people controlled by desire,
murmurs hidden in darkness
tempt those without resolve.
The raging fire of desire burns;
under its gaze,
everything is released,
everything is controlled—
and no being can escape.
