The design of the Queen of Cups is inspired by Girl with a Pearl Earring, painted by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer in 1665. The painting is currently housed in the Mauritshuis in The Hague, Netherlands.

This card draws upon that artwork for reinterpretation due to the symbol of the pearl, which represents the element of water. It also reflects the girl’s extraordinary temperament and her serene, reserved expression that hints at untold thoughts.

Her golden-brown robe is adorned with shells and fish motifs. Pink bubbles rise from the cup, each containing a dreamy underwater scene. The soft blending of pink and blue gives the artwork a fresh, ethereal quality.
