Eight of Cups

Element: Water
The design of this card is inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean heroine Elizabeth. Born into wealth as the daughter of a governor, she was beautiful and talented, yet chose to abandon it all for a life of adventure among Caribbean pirates. Transforming from a refined lady into a female pirate, she pursued a path true to herself.
In the artwork, you’ll see jewelry, a wooden comb, and a mirror beside the Eight Cups—all symbols of the life she once had.
When the Eight of Cups appears, it's a sign to make a choice and break through limitations. Ask yourself honestly: What do I truly want? Pursue that goal—even if the world laughs at you. This is your life, and you get to choose.
Such resolve and courage to go beyond oneself propels us toward the fulfillment of the Nine of Cups.
