Death
Upright:
Calm acceptance, an ending of events
Renewed hope, a new beginning
Reversed:
Immersed in the past, unable to let go
Crushed by setbacks, unable to move forward
Withering from Disease
Some plants develop lesions during their growth, and if left unchecked, the infection spreads and leads to withering. These blighted branches and leaves must be removed promptly to prevent further decay.
Little Reapers
These are a unique kind of spirit, guardians of the Scythe-Leaf Tree. When the tree matures, they harvest its leaves and use them as scythes. In the forest, they also clear away rotten branches that cling on instead of falling naturally. While most plants shed dead matter on their own, those struck by disease require outside intervention. The Little Reapers are specialists in such tasks, preventing contagion from spreading deeper into the grove.
Strange Plant – Scythe-Leaf Tree
The leaves of this tree sharpen as they mature, resembling natural scythes. Once ready, they detach on their own, and within their veins lie hidden seeds. When the Little Reapers put these leaves to use, the scythe-like edges wear down, releasing the seeds to the earth. In this way, the leaves serve not only as tools but also as fruit, a singular survival strategy of the Scythe-Leaf Tree.
Strange Plant – Flower of Rebirth
Pure white and luminous, this flower evokes pristine beauty, though it is in fact a carrion-feeder. It thrives around decaying plants and animal remains, blooming like a lotus rising from mud. Its radiant blossoms stand as symbols of rebirth and hope, flourishing at the edges of death and reminding us that even in the shadow of endings, life always seeks a new beginning.
