15. The Devil

Upright

This card seems tailored to tightly bind the beagle—its innocent appearance masks the Devil beneath. The Devil card is often associated with materialism, bondage, temptation, and obsession. When it appears upright, it may suggest that you’re being held back by some form of dependency, material attachment, negative thinking, or an unhealthy relationship. In a work context, however, the Devil's appearance may indicate a large financial gain.

Reversed

When the Devil appears reversed, it signals that you are trying to break free—or have already begun to break free—from the chains that once bound you. This may be an inner awakening, where you realize you no longer want to be controlled by past fears, attachments, or limitations. You may have achieved self-awareness and spiritual renewal.
