15. The Devil
The Devil card unveils the inescapable temptations, desires, and chains within human nature. The devil gazes down upon a chained man and woman, as if inspecting his playthings. Though shackled, the pair exchange glances, drawn to each other—trapped in a dilemma yet seemingly willingly immersed, unable or unwilling to break free.
Their actions appear to be under invisible surveillance, as if controlled by an irresistible force. Flames blaze around them, symbolizing rising passion and desire, but also hint at the lurking threat of destruction. This reminds us that desire is a double-edged sword—it can grant fulfillment, yet also bring misfortune.
