Two of Cups

Upright: positive relationship growth, mutual healing and equality, union of two forces, creation of new energy.

Reversed: unequal relationships or imbalanced effort, endings, emotional separation, dissolution of partnership or cooperation.

Upon a soft and delicate shore, two maidens dressed in different garments each hold a sacred conch shell, as though performing a ritual. Their eyes are fixed in focus as they carefully bring their shells closer together, turning them gently until the openings meet and interlock. The once-separate shells merge seamlessly into one — strong, unified, and complete. Their mirrored gestures and harmonious rhythm reflect mutual understanding and deep respect for one another’s individuality.

The Two of Cups symbolizes the merging of two energies — a union that brings greater strength than either could achieve alone. Known as the “minor Lovers card,” it represents partnership, attraction, and harmony — not only in romance, but also in friendship, collaboration, and any bond founded on balance and mutual appreciation.
