Five of Wands

Upright: fair competition, friendly rivalry for enjoyment, harmless conflict that encourages growth.

Reversed: harmful or unfair competition, conflicts involving deceit or unethical behavior.

Five fiery wands intertwine and clash, each striking in a different direction—signifying unequal positions or conflicting standpoints. Among the Wands cards, this scene is the most chaotic. The wands seem to be locked in combat, or perhaps a playful sparring match, the image full of dynamic energy. The Five of Wands represents the balance of competing forces, opposition born of rivalry, and conflict arising from clashing ideals. It depicts the chaos of struggle, both literal and symbolic—a contest of power, rights, or recognition brought to the surface. While such conflicts may be disruptive, they also test strength, resilience, and the ability to cooperate amid disorder.
