IX. The Hermit

Upright: wisdom, attention to detail, introspection, calmness, experience, perseverance, seeking truth, unspoken love.

Reversed: inferiority, jealousy, anxiety, sharpness, suspicion, recklessness, indiscretion, inner loneliness, misfortune, errors due to distraction.

Illuminating the soul, summoning the self. Deep within the forest, she stands alone, holding a faintly glowing hexagram lantern, her eyes closed in contemplation, as though listening to the voice within. As her thoughts deepen, an image of herself begins to emerge upon the stone wall above — like a mirror reflecting her soul. The reflection opens a mysterious third eye, and in that instant, she feels the call from within. With courage, she takes her first steps, bidding farewell to the past and embarking on a journey to seek her true self.

The Hermit card signifies a time for reflection and inner awareness. It represents withdrawal from the external world to awaken the self within. It also denotes maturity and the clarity that comes from truly understanding what one desires.
