VII. The Chariot

Upright: confidence, victory, determination, strong will, perseverance, pioneering spirit, clear direction, strong control, passionate love, triumph in relationships.

Reversed: stubbornness, emotional instability, rejection, passivity, impulsiveness, stagnation.

Even if it means flying into the fire like a moth, she will not hesitate. Grasping the scepter of power, she takes steady steps away from her former timid self. Though the pain of the past still floods her heart, she resolutely pierces through the inner demons reflected in the mirror. With her mind, she commands two moths — one black, one white — leading her toward the light. The path has been chosen; even if it means self-destruction, she will never turn back. Submission is no longer her destiny — her unwavering faith will rewrite her fate.

The Chariot represents powerful will and determination. If The Lovers card speaks of choice, The Chariot is the execution of that choice. Only by overcoming inner fear and confronting one’s own shadows can one truly take control of their destiny. Thus, the second meaning of The Chariot is victory — she will strive with all her might to achieve what her heart desires.
