Five of Cups

Sadness, melancholy, loss, deprivation, separation

Brief Description

Under a dim sky, a man wearing a black cloak bows his head in mourning for the three overturned cups in front of him. There is a bridge over the river in front of him leading to a more distant place, indicating that he has the opportunity to choose another life state. The three cups in front of him are overturned, and there are still two cups standing beside him. If he doesn’t turn around, he will never discover them and will always think he is isolated and helpless. However, hope lies behind disappointment. If he picks up the two standing cups and crosses the bridge, life will start anew; otherwise, life will always be so painful.
