Queen of Pentacles
Element: Earth + Water
This card is inspired by “The Tajik Bride” by renowned Chinese painter Jin Shangyi, painted in 1983 and housed at the National Art Museum of China. Jin was former president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and holds numerous prestigious positions.
The painting is predominantly red, matching the original Queen of Pentacles card. The bride’s simple, strong attire reflects the Queen’s grounded and caring qualities. The Tajik people reside in Xinjiang, China, a region associated with abundance—Turpan’s grapes and Hami melons—echoing the Queen’s symbolism of fertility and richness.
