Page of Cups

Element: Water + Air
The design of the Page of Cups is inspired by the famous painting Portrait of Prince Albert Edward, created by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1846. The boy in the naval uniform is Edward, second son of Queen Victoria. Just one month after his birth in 1841, Edward was given the title Prince of Wales. At just 30, Winterhalter became one of the most sought-after court portraitists across Europe. His portraits are known for their pleasing colors and the refined, elegant, and lifelike depiction of subjects.
Today, this painting is over a century old, yet Edward’s expression remains vivid and lifelike. The Page of Cups often represents the beginning of a new relationship—whether romantic or platonic. After a breakup, this card may also hint at reconciliation.
