Ten of Wands

Element: Fire
The design of the Ten of Wands is inspired by the “Mountain Porters” of Mount Hua in China. While climbing its steep and winding paths, one may witness these porters—mostly lean, sun-worn men over 50—carrying immense loads with nothing but a shoulder pole. In the scorching sun, their thin bodies haul water, food, and supplies for tourists. These porters embody the spirit of the Ten of Wands: unrelenting endurance despite overwhelming burdens, a symbol of life’s hardships and the power of perseverance.
