The World

Element: Earth
The World card draws inspiration from the “Little Blue Man” featured in the Paris Olympics—a representation of the Greek god Dionysus. As the god of wine, Dionysus was believed to possess the intoxicating power of wine, spreading joy, love, and celebration. Revered for fostering civilization and law, he also upheld world harmony. His divine influence dissolved boundaries: between humans and nature, humans and gods, and even between individuals, guiding all into a state of unity and transcendence.
Nietzsche referred to Dionysus as the “god of instinct,” celebrating primal life forces and the sublime energy found in both ecstasy and agony. It’s this instinct—free, raw, and fearless—that drives evolution, rebirth, and completion. The World card thus symbolizes the fullness of life: the cycle of achievement, wholeness, and the balance of all elements.
