Medieval Secrets Tarot – Four of Pentacles

Medieval Secrets Tarot

Four of Pentacles

The Grip That Binds · Klaus · The Garden of Plenty

Keywords: Cling / Hoard / Obsess

Card Meaning

The Grip That Binds speaks of the obsession of holding on, the shackles of possession, and the fear of loss. It is clinging tightly to the wealth, status or resources you already have — unwilling to let go, afraid to share, and even losing the chance to flow and grow as a result. You own it, yet you cannot enjoy it. When possession becomes obsession, wealth becomes a cage.

Whatever you grip too tightly will end up gripping you.

Upright

  • Money & Social Life: Having money but afraid to spend it; keeping company only with people who are useful to you.
  • Study: Clinging to the old, and unwilling to share.

Reversed

  • Core Issue: Only by daring to let go can you receive something new.
  • Love: Giving each other space — even if it doesn’t work out, at least you tried.
  • Career: Daring to try a new path and invest in yourself; what seems to be flowing away is actually coming alive.
  • Money & Social Life: Money starts to flow and you stop keeping score; with more friends, more roads open up.
  • Study: Taking in new things, sharing what you have, and reaching the shore together.
