Medieval Secrets Tarot – Nine of Swords

Medieval Secrets Tarot

Nine of Swords

The Noose of Nightmares · Nox · The Hall of Wisdom

Keywords: Nightmare / Anxiety / Regret

Card Meaning

The Noose of Nightmares speaks of inner fear, thoughts that will not let you sleep, and a crushing weight on the spirit. It is not blades striking from outside, but a nightmare you weave yourself. Nine swords hang overhead, each one a thought you cannot let go of, and every night becomes a wakefulness there is no escaping.

What traps you is not the problem, but the obsession with having to find an answer.

Upright

  • Essence: Wrapped in anxiety, unable to sleep at night.
  • Love: Always guessing what the other person is thinking, turning love into an interrogation.
  • Career: Worried about failure, afraid of the competition — the more you think, the more wide awake you are.
  • Money & Social Life: Afraid of losing money, of being misunderstood, of losing what you have.
  • Study: Stuck on a single problem — the more you think, the more tangled it gets, and the more tangled it gets, the less you can sleep.

Reversed

  • Core Issue: It’s not that the problem is solved — you have simply gone numb.
  • Love: Drained by the relationship, with no strength left to love.
  • Career: Giving up on thinking and drifting with the current.
  • Money & Social Life: Save according to plan; talk it out or meditate, and stop carrying it all alone.
  • Study: Let go of the “what if I fail the exam?” obsession, and go to bed on time.
