Card Meaning

The Axis of Turning speaks of the flow of fate, the turning of cycles, and the appearance of forces that cannot be resisted. It is the eternal rhythm of the universe: everything changes and comes round again, with no everlasting peak and no endless low.

Life has its own tides, and some things are beyond human power to change. Wisdom is not resisting the ebb and flow, but finding your place in every turn of the wheel.

Upright

• Essence: In fair times and foul, keep moving; the wheel is always turning.
• Love: Don’t cling when a bond begins or regret when it ends; every meeting has its time, so cherish the present.
• Career: Advance when the tide is with you; build your strength when it runs against you.
• Money & Social Life: Save at the low points and know when to stop at the high ones; meet people sincerely, and part with grace.
• Study: A standstill is not a failure — lie low and wait for your moment.

Reversed

• Core Issue: Fighting it wears you down; blind faith makes you idle.
• Love: Obsession traps you in the past; giving up makes you miss the present.
• Career: Pushing against the tide until you are spent, or lying flat and missing your chance.
• Money & Social Life: Greed and fear of loss; control that drives people away.
• Study: Restless and rootless; accepting your fate and simply stopping.
