Page of Swords
My first meeting with Caelinvia came from a golden scar that split through chaos at the summit of a sea of clouds. I followed the white bird’s wings upward, climbing into the depths of the sky, and there I saw her. Her hair drifted lightly in the wind. Her deep blue-violet robe seemed to hold an infinite space within it, as vast star charts brightened and dimmed with her breathing, as if she wore the whole creation-night draped over her shoulders. She is a beginner in wind energy, taming the fickleness of celestial phenomena with a youthful steadiness. She focused, raised her sword—where the blade pointed, the heavy, chaotic cloud layers curled away to either side as if afraid. A blazing sky-light surged and poured through the opening, cleansing every inch of obstruction in an instant. She said she loves watching stars at night, studying the traces of their paths; and she also loves following flocks by day, weaving freely among the clouds. I watched her turn into a strand of gold thread and vanish into the deep blue, like a small flower embroidered into the sky.
