Three of Swords

I decided to move forward, riding in a small boat and climbing toward the sky under the moonlight’s pull. But a merciless bolt of lightning struck me, and my wings withered and scattered like autumn leaves. In the instant I fell, I crashed into an apple riddled with holes. Three ancient swords pierced through its flesh, yet it used its last green leaves to shield me from wind and rain. I thought of those unavoidable wounds, tormenting me as if countless arrows were piercing my heart. This night was far too long.
