Death

The river cast me onto a black mudflat, where a flock of crows were devouring frost-flowers. Suddenly, a ray of sunlight pierced the darkness. The searing beam stung the crows, scattering them and knocking black feathers to the ground. I opened my eyes— in my palm, a pure white flower quietly bloomed.
