The Sun
Upright:
Radiant joy, open-hearted innocence
Cheerful spirit, filled with hope
Reversed:
Weary will, loss of vitality
Impatience, strained relationships
Strange Plant – Sunflower (Male)
The male Sunflower is notably smaller than its female counterpart. Its corolla is slender and laced with delicate gaps, yet it retains the ability to gather and radiate light. The energy it converts from sunlight is a rare and fleeting resource, dispersing quickly if not harvested in time.
Spirit – Mangding
These familiar sprites delight in collecting light energy, carrying it carefully and delivering it to plants in need, ensuring the cycle of growth continues unbroken.
Strange Plant – Sunflower (Female)
The female Sunflower grows to an immense size, with reduced leaf surface yet a blossom that is full and layered in three concentric rings. Its structural differences reflect its specialized role—working in harmony with the male plant to complete the cycle of life.
The male, modest in form, avoids competing for sunlight by minimizing its size, while its broader leaves maximize efficiency in light absorption. Though capable of producing light energy, it is far less effective than the female. Its sacrifice nurtures the female’s rapid growth, ensuring the life cycle progresses smoothly.
The female, vast and vibrant, balances her size by limiting leaf growth, leaving space for the male to receive sufficient light. Her tri-layered bloom excels in light conversion and pollination. Yet unchecked growth brings peril: if the female expands beyond her bounds, she overshadows the male. Withered and starved of light, the male can no longer support pollination, and the decline of the species begins.
