The Sun

Dish: Yangchun Noodles

The Sun is a card with nothing to hide. No secrets, no metaphors—everything unfolds in the light. Just like Yangchun noodles: clear broth, smooth noodles, and an elegant fatty aroma. When I was a kid, before a big exam, my mom would always add a fried egg on top—golden and plump, with crispy edges, like a sun hanging in the middle of the bowl. One dip of your chopsticks and the "sunlight" floats on the soup. This is Mom’s "Full Marks Combo"—hope, strength, and warmth. The horn sounds, the sleepers awaken, and time pushes destiny to this point. Judgement isn't a symbol of punishment; it’s a call to return to the source. Among family and loved ones, you wrap the laughter and tears, the tangles and pain, the hope and longing—all into the dough skin. Whether the past year was good or bad doesn't matter; a new journey is always starting. But for now, in the safest place, take a rest. Just take a rest.

UPRIGHT

Light, pure and true joy, success, clarity, vitality, confirmation, satisfaction, unity. Recovery, renewal, judgment, sentence, taking responsibility for oneself, discovering and facing the true self, irreversible choice, starting again after completion, integrating the past, major change.

REVERSED

Delayed success, over-optimism, distrust of simple answers, light being blocked, hidden answers, slackness, self-deception, need for more action. Judgement Resistance or not knowing how to respond to the call, unwilling to enter the next stage, refusing to take responsibility, making excuses, shirking.
