Three of Wands
Astrology: Sun, Aries | Element: Fire | Timing: March 31–April 10
Late at night, a deep-blue silk map is unfurled. Its folds shimmer like ocean waves. The lines of latitude and longitude suddenly pull taut into sea routes, and a small boat quietly slips into the painted scroll. The torch-bearer is the eyes: the first person’s flame pierces the fog—this is “foresight.” While most still linger on the shore, the one who dares to extend a torch toward the unknown waters has already seen opportunities in the undercurrents. The rowers are the arms: the two on either side slice through the silk’s waves in unison—one counters the swirling current, one balances fate’s tilt, and one becomes the eyes.
Symbolism:
Torch: The first “wand” symbol—vision and leadership, the root of navigation and direction, corresponding to the merchant figure in the traditional Waite image.
Oars: The remaining two symbolic “wands,” representing coordination and division of labor within the same endeavor. Different people choose different tools and hold different wands to reach a shared final goal.
Goods: The nature of trade, and the material foundation that trade already possesses.
Deep-Blue Silk Sea: Silk as a classic trade element, symbolizing prosperity and the possibility of success.
Directional Icons: Clear goals and direction.
Latitude/Longitude Lines and Direction: This is also a map, but unlike the parchment of Two of Wands, it is a silk map—more focused on trade.
Upright:
Trade, leadership, foresight, cooperation, exploration, progress in new plans, a sense of control, a solid foundation.
Personality: Forward-looking and visionary, optimistic and upward-moving, enjoying success, knowing what to do, fond of careful thinking and planning, tolerant, and patient with others.
Relationship: A steadily developing relationship, filled with vision and expectation for the future. Possible long-distance circumstances. Planning and looking ahead together, strong responsibility, and good teamwork. Singles may also meet a new relationship.
Career/Studies: Initial success or notable progress in a project. A period of business expansion, possibly involving external markets, international markets, cross-regional cooperation, remote projects. Long-term development requires patience, and cooperation is crucial.
Finances: Investments begin to show early returns. Cross-regional, cross-border, or international cooperation can bring gains. Long-term financial planning, steadily rising wealth, and strong potential.
Advice: Your plan is clear, and the torch can illuminate the sea. Keep your vision and goals, and keep going. Cooperation is essential now—seek support and partnership. The balance of the twin oars and the guidance of the flame are both indispensable; together, they carry you farther.
Reversed:
Delays, hesitation, stagnation, setbacks, lack of foresight, the need to find new methods, weak cooperation, lack of leadership.
Personality: Careless, short-sighted, lacking the bigger picture, closed-off, stubborn, impatient, with weak leadership and poor decisiveness.
Relationship: Lacking confidence in long-term development. Long-distance or cross-cultural relationships may stall; expectations fall through. The relationship stagnates, lacking shared goals and momentum. Short-sightedness, neglecting past vows.
Career/Studies: Project progress delayed or obstructed. Problems may arise in cross-regional collaboration, logistics, or transportation. Expansion fails, management becomes chaotic, cooperation breaks down, lacking planning and vision.
Finances: Expected returns do not arrive. Overplanning leads to losses or tight cash flow. Missed opportunities due to lack of vision or blocked information. Wealth growth stalls or even reverses.
Advice: Reexamine the present issues. Even the one holding the torch must learn to coordinate cooperation. Replan your goals, communicate with those around you, adjust expectations, broaden your perspective, and keep information flowing—then consider coordination and partnership again.
