Keywords: Conflict / Hollow / Isolate

Card Meaning

The Quarrel of Broken Words speaks of the embers after a fight, the emptiness of winning and losing, and the wounds that words inflict. It is not a clash of blades on a battlefield, but the wreckage left behind after an exchange of words. You win the argument but lose people’s hearts; you seize the swords but lose your way.

With some victories, the more you win, the more you lose. When all you have left in your hands is your own sword, winning and losing come to nothing.

  • Love: Win or lose, you have lost their heart.

  • Money & Social Life: You come out ahead, but lose the goodwill between you.
  • Study: Insisting on your own view, you miss the chance to learn.

Reversed

  • Love: Pressing them to admit they were wrong, until the relationship breaks.
  • Career: Never satisfied with winning, you make enemies everywhere.
  • Money & Social Life: Lose once and you never touch it again.
