Card Meaning

The Ember Vigil speaks of holding fast through your wounds, alertness that follows exhaustion, and guarding the last stronghold. It is the moment when, after many battles, weary and wounded, you still choose to hold your position and refuse to yield a single step. This is not a charge but a defense; not conquering more, but keeping what you already have from being taken away.

A true warrior is not the one who sweeps all before them on the battlefield, but the one who can still rise after being wounded and hold the line.
