The Five of Wands isn't about real war, but trials, competition, and growth in chaos. This card refers to the composition of the Five of Wands in the Sola Busca deck: soft mahua, thousand-layer mahua, sesame mahua, filled mahua, and small mahua are forced to twist together, just like the five figures in the Waite deck each holding a wand, none willing to back down. Thus, pressure comes from the outside, and competition comes from the inside. The essence of mahua is "kinking"—the dough must be repeatedly pulled and twisted to take shape. This process perfectly corresponds to the tension of the Five of Wands: every strand wants to break free, every type craves independent space. But it is this pulling and clashing that creates the layers and texture. Therefore, the chaos of the Five of Wands isn't necessarily a bad thing. It brings a driving force, finding a direction for growth within the conflict.
Competition, differences, difficulties that can be overcome through negotiation, forced to gather together, inner conflict.
Openness, coordination, someone willing to compromise to change the status quo.
